Webb15 juni 2024 · The SLOW_MODE switch is in the slow mode position. You can try moving that switch a bit and see if that helps, but most likely it won't much. The other option is to go into the BIOS and go to the OC section, then under CPU Features, find the Intel Adaptive Thermal Monitor and disable it. That might help get you back to the expected speeds. Currently I run a 4790K and the MSI Z97 Gaming 7. Been having some major slowness last few days, and today realized with CPU-Z that my core speeds are running at 800mhz. Found an old thread here about the slow mode switch and it had been suggested to switch it on and off to fix it.

Webb23 mars 2015 · I used to have same issue with same CPU, with msi gaming 7 mobo. After couple of frustrating days I noticed that there was an onboard "slow mode" switch on. I turned it off, booted the system, and the issue was gone. That slow mode limited the multiplier of the cpu to 8x.
